Situated amongst beautiful rolling hills and only thirty minutes from majestic Waterton National Park, the town of Cardston has a history befitting its people. The community was first settled in 1887 by pioneers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Ruts of the last covered wagon migrations can still be seen in the surrounding prairie landscape. Historic landmarks abound in the community. The Card Pioneer Home is a genuine “Little House On The Prairie”.

It was built by Cardston’s founder Charles Ora Card and served as a community centre and resting place for travelers until the first hotel was built in 1894. The log structure still stands in its original location.
