Canada Day Events in Southwest Alberta

There is no shortage of Canada Day activities in Southwest Alberta. The only question is what are you going to do? Don’t forget Parks Canada will waive its entry fee to national parks and national historic sites on Canada Day.
Here is a list of events from across the region.
Lethbridge
Events schedule for Lethbridge's Henderson Park
10am– Red Dress 5k run (Japanese Gardens)
Noon– Lethbridge Community Silver Band
1pm—Ammena Dancers: They dance pretty Mid-Eastern dances. 2pm—Richy Roys Emergency Magical Service
3pm—Southern Flyer
3:35—Uof L Global Drums
4pm—Opening Ceremonies –piped in by Royal Canadian Legion , O’Canada, Greetings from dignitaries
4:20pm—Desert Wind Belly Dancers 5pm—Evening Show Trevor Panczak & Rough Stock: Trevor is a local country favourite.
6pm—Chinook Community Orchestra
7pm—Lethbridge Community Gold Band
8pm—Glen Coulee: They play folk and blues really well. 9pm—Hippodrome: These guys and girls play energetic funk fused, ’70s style dance music.
10:00—Fast Times: They play classic rock hits and some originals.
11:00—Fireworks
The Lethbridge Bulls baseball team have a full slate of events surrounding their double header with the Medicine Hat Mavericks. Here is a look at what's going on at Spitz Stadium.

Okotoks
Kick off Canada Day with the GO2 Walk with the Mayor. This sets off from the Okotoks Recreation Centre.
12-4 Then join us at the Okotoks Recreation Centre for some free family fun.
The afternoon will be filled with outside games and activities, in addition free swimming and gymnasium time has been scheduled.
Canada day fun doesn’t end there! In the evening head down to Elizabeth Street and enjoy some music, entertainment and refreshments.
A dazzling display of fireworks will round out the days activities.
Taber
8:00am – 10:00 am: Pancake Breakfast at the Community Centre Auditorium. (Outdoor weather permitting) The
breakfast will be kindly served by the Taber Kiwanis Club – silver collection. This breakfast is sponsored by Taber
Safeway, Lucerne Foods Ltd, Superior Propane Inc, Taber IGA, Ellison Milling Company, Taber Atco Gas & 3D
Controls.
• 10:00 am: Flag raising at the flagpole in Confederation Park. There will be a march from the Taber Legion to the flag
pole in the park. Everyone is welcome to join in! Assemble for the march at 9:30am at the Legion.

will be playing after the fireworks. Popcorn concession will be available.
High River
Join us for a Fun Filled day of Family activites celebrating Canada Day on July 1 in the George Lane Memorial Park beginning at 12 noon and runs until 4 pm. There will be cake to start of the celebration and all kinds of games for the kids, face painting, petting zoo, entertainment, inflatable activities, show N shine, & concession.
Then anytime after 9pm head on over to Emerson Lake at 9 St. and 9 Ave S.E. and listen to the entertainment and then at approximately 10:45 pm the fireworks will begin to finish off a great family fun filled day.
Cardston
This year the festivities will be commence at the Card Home beginning at 1:00pm and running until 3:00pm. Come and enjoy some free lemonade and birthday cake. There will be fun, old fashioned games for the kids to play and a photo opportunity with the RCMP in Red Surge (you will need to bring a camera).
Then the celebration will continue in the evening at the Lion’s Park with our traditional “Party in the Park” beginning at 6:00pm and ending at 9:00pm. The festivities will then conclude at 11:00pm with a fireworks display from Walker Field.
Claresholm
Claresholm celebrates Canada Day in Amundsen Park from 12 noon until 4 pm. Flag raising at 12:30 pm.
